On Saturday, July 15th, SFMS will be having a field trip to the GigaMacro lab in Napa, CA. GigaMacro is an innovative imaging system that uses a combination of digital macrophotography, robotics, and computational photography to combine a series of small, close-up photos into a gigapixel-resolution image. This will yield a single, highly detailed image, but can also be usable to carry out a detailed post-caputure examination of the image.

GigaMacro will be showing SFMS a tour of its location and a demo of the GigaMacro system.

GigaMacro's website can be viewed here.

Time: Saturday, July 15th, 2017, noon.

Location: GigaMacro, 455 Technology Way, Napa, CA 94558. A Google Map of the location can be found here.

The location is near the Napa Airport, approximately halfway between American Canyon and downtown Napa. It is can be reached from either Highway 37 east, or Highway 80 north and 37 west. From Highway 37, turn onto Highway 29 north. The exit is left onto Airport Blvd (across from the Highway 29 and 12 intersection). From Airport Rd, take a right on Devlin Rd, left on Gateway Rd.
